INSTRUMENT QUALIFICATION

IR(H) – Instrument Rating Helicopters


HELITOM s.r.o. provides theoretical training for obtaining the helicopter pilot's instrument rating in the IR(H) modular course. The IR(H) rating entitles you to perform flights according to instrument flying rules.

Requirements:

  • No minimum age limit
  • The applicant must provide sufficient knowledge of mathematics, physics and English language.
  • Theoretical part: 100 - 150 hours
  • Areas covered:
    1. Aviation law and ATC procedures
    2. General knowledge of aircraft
    3. Instrumentation
    4. Flight monitoring and planning
    5. Human performance and limitations
    6. Meteorology
    7. General navigation
    8. Radionavigation
    9. IFR communication

Course progress


Theoretical training will be in the form of professional lectures in the HELITOM s.r.o. classrooms and in the form of self-study. To tackle the theoretical preparation, the course's participants are given access to an e-learning and testing software that allows effective preparation for theoretical exams at the Civil Aviation Authority. The total length of study during the IR(H) course is at least 100 hours, of which at least 10 teaching hours will be in the form of professional lectures in the classroom.

The successful completion of theoretical training in the helicopter school HELITOM s.r.o. is confirmed by the issuance of a certificate of training completion, which is necessary for registration for the theoretical examinations at the Civil Aviation Authority.
